5am to 7am – Large Intestine Time

Organs related: Large Intestine and colon. There is a strong correlation between Lungs and Large Intestine in TCM as the Lung meridian is the Yin counterpart to the Large Intestine Meridian which is the Yang counterpart. Hence right after Lung time, Large Intestine takes on the energetic flow in the body clock.

What you should do: When Large Intestine takes the lead, you should wake up and drink water! Amount should be about 500 ml of plain water to keep a healthy colon for the body. You can go for a brisk walk, but no caffeine at this hour.

Interesting fact: You may realise when you have flu or cold and phlegm is clogged in your Lungs, your bowel movement may be disrupted as well. Either constipation or loose stool. That is because the Lungs and Large Intestine are so closely related!
